I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor who specializes in individual, couples and group psychotherapy and maintain a private practice in Topsham, Maine. I have been in a practitioner for the past 28 years, in both the private and public sectors.
I am Boston College alumni, with a focus on community counseling and hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Biology. I chose this particular concentration as I view a person's strengths and abilities and capitalize on those, instead of dwelling on 'what's wrong .' I enjoy working collaboratively with all the treatment providers in your life, including psychiatry, general practitioners, and school personnel.
I am trained in SensoryMotor Psychotherapy which adheres to the model that the body speaks to us through our senses and we have to learn to reconnect with our bodies to fully appreciate how complex and wonderful a tool we really are. Through somatic redirection and mindfulness as the backdrop, clients have reported quicker therapy outcomes, with more zest and vigor than expected.
My interactive treatment approach provides support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. I incorporate a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for you. With sensitivity and compassion, I strive to aid each client on their journey to build on their strengths to identify and achieve their life goals.
Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.
