"Options Counseling' or 'Optimal thinking to improve one's success' encapsulates my hopes for you in our therapeutic journey together.
My passion as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, growth enhancing relationship where challenges and concerns can be explored. Using an interactive, holistic, existential approach, a wide range of life's situations and psychological concerns can be examined and new ways of thinking explored. We will use mindfulness, the art of being present right here, right now to explore patterns and procedural ways of being in the world. With this powerfully gentle approach, clients report shifts in their behaiors and being in a very brief timeframe.
I ascribe to many complimentary methods, including Positive Psychology, in our work together. I have vast knowledge of the neurobiology of behavior/thinking and often serve as 'teacher'. Clients report improved mood, more fulfilling relationships, decreased anxiety leading to greater success reaching their goals, including mental, physical and spiritual growth and health.
Body centered sensorimotor psychotherapy holds the belief that our body 'holds' information about our self and our lives that words often cannot access. With mindfulness, staying present right here, right now, we can explore aspects of how your body holds valuable untapped information and use this to further enhance your therapy, with you at the helm of this journey.
We focus on those 'parts' that have worked before in your life to get you where you are today, and to unravel behaviors and beliefs that impede reaching your full potential. My belief is that we all have 'strengths' and my role is to help magnify those for you and offer you new tools to add to your already rich repetoire of being. <
"Perhaps ultimately, spiritual simply means
experiencing wholeness and interconnectedness directly,
a seeing that individuality and the totality are interwoven,
that nothing is separate or extraneous.
If you see in this way, then everything becomes spiritual in its deepest sense.
Doing science is spiritual. So is washing the dishes.."
